Welcome Back, New Year Goals, & MLK Jr. Day Preview

We hope you are having a joyful break and enjoying time with loved ones as we prepare to ring in the New Year!

Looking Ahead to January 2026

  • Welcome Back: We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, January 5, 2026.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day Preview:
    • In observance of MLK Jr. Day, there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 19, 2026.
    • Our annual MLK Day of Service volunteer sign-up list will open on Jan 6. Students can earn community service hours by participating in local service projects.
  • Report Cards: Semester 1 report cards will be finalized and accessible on the Student/Parent Portal starting Friday, January 9.

Holiday Season & Winter Break Notice

  • Winter Break Schedule: School will be closed from Monday, December 22, 2025 through Friday, January 2, 2026.
  • School Reopens: Classes resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.
  • Building Hours: Administrative offices will be closed during the break. For urgent facilities matters, please contact the front desk.

We wish all of our families celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or enjoying the winter season a warm and safe holiday!

Winter Fine Arts Showcase & Holiday Toy Drive

December has arrived, bringing a busy schedule of performances and holiday cheer before our winter break.

Upcoming Events

  • Winter Concert Series:
    • Choir & Orchestra: Tuesday, December 9 at 6:30 PM (Main Auditorium).
    • Jazz & Symphonic Band: Thursday, December 11 at 6:30 PM.
  • Holiday Toy Drive: The National Honor Society is collecting new, unwrapped toys for local children in need through Friday, December 19. Drop-off bins are located in the Main Lobby.

Thanksgiving Break & Annual Canned Food Drive

Dear Families and Staff,

As we approach Thanksgiving, we extend our gratitude to our students, educators, and families for making our school such a strong community.

Important Updates

  • Thanksgiving Break:
    • Early Dismissal: Tuesday, November 25 at 12:30 PM.
    • No School: Wednesday, November 26 – Friday, November 28.
    • Classes resume on Monday, December 1.
  • Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive Results: Thanks to your generosity, our Student Council collected Over 1,200 canned goods for the local community food pantry! Thank you for giving back!

Honoring Veterans Day & Winter Sports Tryouts

This week we pause to recognize and honor the dedicated men and women who have served in our nation's Armed Forces.

Announcements & Schedule Updates

  • Veterans Day Assembly & No School:
    • Monday, November 10: School-wide Veterans Day Assembly at 9:30 AM. Student veterans' family members are invited to attend.
    • Tuesday, November 11: NO SCHOOL in observance of Veterans Day.
  • Winter Sports Tryouts: Tryouts for basketball, wrestling, and indoor track begin Monday, November 17. All physical forms must be uploaded to the Athletic Portal by Friday, Nov 14.
  • Drama Club Fall Play: The Crucible opens on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for adults at the door.

As October comes to a close, we wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween week ahead!

Announcements & Reminders

  • Halloween Costume Guidelines: Costume day is Friday, October 31. Please remember:
    • No masks covering the full face during class hours.
    • No prop weapons of any kind.
    • All costumes must strictly adhere to the school dress code.
  • Red Ribbon Week: This week (Oct 27–31), we are participating in Red Ribbon Week to promote healthy choices and drug awareness. Wear red on Tuesday, Oct 28!
  • Daylight Saving Time Ends: Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour next Sunday, November 2!

Welcome to October! Fall Festival & Homecoming Preview

Welcome to October! We have an exciting month ahead as autumn settles in and our fall events get underway.

Key Announcements & Upcoming Events

  • Annual Fall Festival: Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 18, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the school grounds. Enjoy food trucks, local craft vendors, carnival games, and our famous pumpkin-decorating contest!
  • Spirit Week & Homecoming: Spirit Week runs from October 20 – October 24, leading up to our Homecoming Football Game on Friday, October 24 at 7:00 PM.
  • PSAT/NMSQT Testing: Juniors and registered Sophomores will be testing on Wednesday, October 15. Please ensure students arrive with charged school devices and standard #2 pencils.

Reminder: Parent-Teacher Conference registration opens next Sunday, October 12 via the Parent Portal.
